DSC5844 - Colorful Evening Light, Mount Clark, Yosemite Majestic Mountain Scenes
There's something about mountains that makes us feel a special way. Whether we hike on them, climb their rock cliffs, or admire them in a photo from an armchair, we love mountains. I try to capture them in photos in ways that show them in all their glory for everyone to enjoy.

DSC2571-Foggy-Morning-at-Point-Reyes Relaxing Water Scenes
Humans have a special connection to water. After all, 60% of the human body is water! Being around water can bring us a sense of calm. Whether it's a still mountain pond, the roar of ocean waves, or the sounds of a rushing creek, the soothing sound and motion helps us feel good. We can enjoy this indirectly by viewing photos of water scenes.

DSC2972 - Pine Cone in Snow Intimate Landscapes
"Intimate Landscapes" are subject to interpretation. My view is that they represent a look at small slices of a broader landscape. It might be something like the pine cone in snow pictured here. It could be a portion of a pond, or a tree trunk. Any of these help us see an "intimate" view of one little part of the natural world in which we live.

Evening-Light-Over-the-Foothills-DJI_0919 Birds Eye View (New!)
Shooting images from above the landscape enables us to get a perspective we can't see from the ground. Sometimes it's as simple as getting above trees that block the view. Other times the higher vantage point gives us a birds eye view that completely changes what we see. I shoot my aerial imagery from a drone (or "unmanned aerial system" in official terms), so I can be anywhere from just above the ground, to as high as 400 feet. Take a look and see what you think!
