Hello everyone! This is from a hike this weekend near a recreation area in the Stanislaus National Forest, in the western foothills of the Sierra.
I hiked in the evening, and the setting sun created beautiful light through the trees. Along the way I came across this little lake – it was very calm, quiet, and the smell of the forest in the Spring was in the air. It’s a bit early for mosquitoes, and that was a plus 🙂 … I bet they will be really swarming there before long.
If you need a respite from the crazy world around us, sit back, take in this scene, and imagine the smell of the forest. It might help :).
